Chocolate Brownie
Italian
Ingredients
-
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter 2 cups granulated sugar 4 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) Chopped nuts (optional)
Cooking Instruction
Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
Melt Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in short bursts in the microwave, or melt it over low heat on the stove. Make sure not to overheat the butter; it should be melted but not boiling.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well combined.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter-sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts (Optional): If you're using chocolate chips or chopped nuts, fold them into the batter at this stage.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter.
Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10-15 minutes before cutting them into squares and serving. You can dust them with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
