Alfredo Pasta

Italian

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (about 225 grams) of fettuccine pasta 1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter 1 cup of heavy cream 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese 2 cloves of garlic, minced (optional) Salt and pepper to taste Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Cooking Instruction

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite). Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, and set aside. Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. If using minced garlic, sauté it in the butter until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly, and bring it to a simmer. Let it simmer gently for about 2-3 minutes until it slightly thickens. Add Parmesan Cheese: Gradually sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese while stirring continuously. Continue to stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss the pasta gently until it's well coated with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, you can add some of the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. Season and Serve: Taste the pasta and season with salt and pepper as needed. You can also sprinkle some chopped parsley on top for garnish if you like. Serve the Alfredo pasta hot, and enjoy!
